DIABETES FAMILY CONNECTION
Lesley is a founding member and Board President of the Diabetes Family Connection, a non-profit whose mission is to positively transform life with diabetes through the power of community. This organization provides year-round recreation-based programs to foster community and support. They believe in providing tools to empower kids living with Type 1 Diabetes and their families to take the lead on this disease and take the lead on their lives. They run the largest, residential summer camp in the state of NC for children living with diabetes in addition to hosting Family Camp, Teen Camp and Adult Camp.
CARY CHURCH
Nathan Kohuth volunteers with his church high school ministry. He travels with them on regular trips to Guayaquil, Ecuador for church planting mission trips.
RIDGECREST BAPTIST CHURCH
Wendy Massey is an active member of the RBC Adult Choir, volunteers in the Preschool and Children’s Ministries as well as the Team Lead on the Baptism Committee.
AWANA
Wendy and her husband Gary lead children learning bible verses through the AWANA Program on Wednesday nights. AWANA is a discipleship program for boys and girls to grow in their knowledge of Jesus with primary focus being on learning and memorizing God's Word. In March of each year, the AWANA’s support an event called “Rise Against Hunger” where the volunteers and children (ages 2nd through 6th grade) pack over 10,000 meals to go to Haiti and other overseas countries to support world hunger.
Edenton Street United Methodist Church
Lesley Day actively contributes to Edenton Street United Methodist Church as a dedicated member. She generously volunteers her time to provide end-of-life care for the church community and also serves on the church council.
Gideons International
Wendy is an active member of the North Durham Camp of Gideons International since 2011. She has held the office of Auxiliary Secretary and Auxiliary Treasurer since 2013. Her husband, Gary, has been a member of the North Durham Camp of Gideons International since 2010. He has held the Office of Gideon Secretary and Gideon Treasurer since 2015.
